A Sacramento Recording Studio

For Musicians by Musicians!

Hypnotone was born out of sheer need as well as a mutual love for recording music. Ted Angel, Tim Pratt and Andy Vaughan found themselves in a band with the usual dilemma that most bands face; the need to record music in a great environment. To begin their journey (soon to be deemed never ending), they quickly turned their first rehearsal room in Sacramento into a make shift studio, and armed with an old Digi002 and lots of persistence, it was there that they recorded their first record. Despite expected limitations, not to mention overcoming the sonic challenges of a very imperfect recording environment, the recording proved to be a success and further increased their desire to start a proper recording studio.

Fast forward to 2012 and after many hours spent acquiring gear, cables, microphones, drywall, lumber, more cables, screws, nails, even more cables, green glue and whatever else you can (and can’t) even imagine (did I mention the incessant need for cabling?), we bring you the ever-changing and always-refining yet ever-so-lovable Hypnotone - Sacramento recording studio!
We currently offer both analog and digital recording using ProTools and 1/2″ tape. We have a wide selection of microphones, pre-amps, compressors and other fancy doodads, not to mention a bevy of vintage guitars and amps that will make your recordings sizzle with yummy sonic goodness.

So, whether you’re a singer/songwriter needing to shake out some new song ideas, a band wanting to record your next full length, or need to finish some commercial voice-over work; please get in touch and allow us to be part of your recordings! Cheers!
